The luck of the Irish is with the Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours as their March event falls on St. Patrick's Day, Thursday, March 17.

The licensed social event, which takes place from 5 to 7 p.m. is open to all Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce members and offers some great networking opportunities, door prizes and appetizers.

This month the event is hosted by Miller Insurance Brokers and will be held at their Southampton location, 162 High Street. They will be getting into the 'St. Paddy's Day' spirit and people planning to attend are encouraged to dress in their best St. Paddy's attire. “We have some green top hats and bows if anyone wants to wear them,” said Miller Insurance's Ashley Warner.

Warner said that catering the event will be Little Black Dog Creative Catering and Chef Services, a new business to Saugeen Shores. “They just started up this month in Southampton so it's kind of a new venture for them,” she said. “They're going to be offering us some Irish themed inspired menu options.”

Some of the tasty treats on offer will include Colcannon mini baked potatoes, mini steak sandwiches with Kilkenny caramelized onions and mini Guinness cupcakes with Bailey ruffles buttercream.

The event will also be collecting for Miller Insurance's charity of choice, Saugeen Valley Children's Safety Village. Warner said they will have a booth set up at the event for people to learn more about them.

“I think we're going to have a pretty decent turn out,” said Warner.poster
