After making the finals in a late December Silver Stick tournament in Kincardine, the Saugeen Shores Novice B Storm have advanced to the International Silver Stick tournament in St. Clair Shores, Michigan, January 20 to 22.

The 8-year-old hockey players need support to travel to the US tournament and will be running a bottle drive on Sunday, January 8.

There will be two locations where donations can be dropped off. First, the team will be collecting in the parking lot at the Plex in Port Elgin on January 8, from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. And second, they will be collecting door-to-door in Port Elgin and Southampton from 1 to 3 p.m.

To ensure that donations are not missed, bottles and cans will also be accepted at the Port Elgin Beer Store from 1 to 3 p.m.
