Aman and Simran Lamar have been at their current location for three years. Staff, patrons, family members and even a member of the Southampton Rotary Club joined Aman and Simran for the cake cutting. There were plenty of things happening in Saugeen Shores July 1, many of which were of the red and white assortment.

jen 560Not only was Jennifer O’Reilly decked out for Canada Day but her car was as well.

downtown 560Reena Baidwan of Port Elgin, her son Ronik and her niece Nikki who was visiting from Brampton, were spending some time in downtown Port Elgin July 1.

library 560Friends of the Port Elgin Library held a book sale on July 1. Del and Nancy Bonham said that the Friends are a fundraising group for the Port Elgin branch. Books are donated from members of the community to help cover costs of things like children’s programs, craft days and ice cream days and the summer reading program.

convertible 560Wanda and David Leah, originally from Port Elgin, were visiting for the week from Brampton in their oh-so-appropriate Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme convertible.

booksale 560The Southampton Arts Centre was also having a book sale July 1 at the Boat House in Southampton. It’s an annual event for the Centre and Darlene McConnachie said it’s one of their biggest fundraisers with funds going towards children’s art classes and art supplies. booksalepatrons 560There were plenty of books on offer at the annual book sale fundraiser in support of the Southampton Art Centre. Patrons could buy a tote for $2 and fill it full of books for an additional $5.
