A new exhibit that brings main streets to life will open this weekend at the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre (BCM&CC). "Small Town Ontario Streetscapes: Combining Art, History and Your Memories" features a collection of artworks by Niagara artist Mary Burke, capturing beautiful streetscapes of previous generations and showcasing their importance in the modern era.

"Based in oil and created on lumber and live-edged wood, the collection highlights the fancy brickwork, arched windows and brightly coloured buildings of the local architecture," read a media release from Bruce County. "The folk-art style offers a glimpse of Burke’s love for these bucolic areas and the local history of cities and towns throughout Ontario."

An opening event will take place at 2pm this Saturday (September 17) with a cash bar and light refreshments. Those wishing to attend are asked to RSVP at brucemuseum.ca/exhibit/small-town-ontario-streetscapes-combining-art-history-and-your-memories-by-artist-mary-burke. The exhibit will be on display in the Bruce Gallery until December 31.
