Summer in Southampton is set to begin with the sound of great music and the joy of wonderful food as the Southampton Live Music and Food Festival kicks off on Friday, June 24.

Seven local restaurants as well as the Southampton Legion, the Southampton Town Hall and the Bruce County Museum will host a variety of musical acts from Jazz to Country and everything in between on Friday, June 24 and Saturday, June 25.

There will be no cover charge at participating eateries or the Legion throughout the weekend but the two concerts at the Museum and the Town Hall will be ticketed events. These events will include some treats (included in the ticket price) as well as a cash bar.

In addition to those already mentioned, participating venues include the Smoky Cactus, Dizzy Bird Coffee, Elk and Finch, Room 797, Duffy's, the Walker House and Highview.

The festival will feature Pop, Folk, Bluegrass, Jazz, Country, R&B, Blues, Reggae and Rock with names like Lance Eckensweiler, Rob Elder, Parsons & Brown, Thales Hunter Trio, Shady Grove, Bobby Dean Blackburn and the Amber May Trio.

Ticketed events include, on Friday from 7-10pm, Mary-Catherine Pazzano (Jazz) at Bruce County Museum and Tyler Yarema (Blues and Jazz) at the Southampton Town Hall.

On Saturday from 7-10pm, Paul Nathan Band (Country) at the Bruce County Museum and Sonja Gustafson and Dean Hollin with Canadian Big Band at the Southampton Town Hall.
