The Chantry Island Cham-bettes have teamed up with Christine Mitchell, The Car Lady Canada, to present Women at the Wheel with all proceeds going to benefit Women’s House Serving Bruce and Grey.

The in-person workshop is set to take place on Saturday, September 18 at Peninsula Ford, 1040 Goderich Street in Port Elgin and will demonstrate basic car maintenance and ownership. The event is set to get underway at 10am and is expected to wrap up around noon. Refreshments will be provided.

"Let's get together, learn something and have a laugh or two," read a recent media release from the Cham-bettes who, thrilled to welcome Mitchell, described her as a charismatic presenter who is passionate about sharing her expertise.

Mitchell found her life's passion at the age of 16 when she looked under the hood of a car for the first time. She spent many years in the automotive industry as a technician, service advisor and salesperson, before laying down her wrenches in 2001 to become The Car Lady.

COVID-19 guidelines will be followed and the demonstration will take place in the open garage bays at Peninsula Ford so dress appropriately for the open air location.

Tickets are $35, are non-refundable and a tax receipt, along with your ticket, for the full amount will be provided by email. Donations over and above the ticket price are welcomed and the option is available through the ticket purchasing process.
