In collaboration with the Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce, the Town of Saugeen Shores is hosting a Canada Day and Labour Day fireworks event on Labour Day weekend.
In an August 18 media release, due to provincial regulations earlier this summer, the Canada Day fireworks were postponed and instead will happen this weekend, on Saturday, September 4 at dusk at Dominion Lookout, at the bottom of High Street in Southampton.
A rain date is scheduled for Sunday, September 5.
“We look forward to seeing the community out at this event and encourage everyone to continue to be mindful of Public Health safety protocols,” said Mayor Luke Charbonneau.
Attendees can enjoy a charity barbeque held by the Saugeen Shores Rotary Club and heritage as well as cultural booths from 4pm to 8pm the night of the fireworks.
Those who plan to attend are reminded to maintain physical distancing from those not in their household as well as to wear a mask and wash their hands or use hand sanitizer frequently.
