Classic, vintage and antique cars line both sides of High Street in Southampton by the big flag each Thursday for Cruisers' Cruise Nite. The event's 25th season kicked off June 6.

Cruisers' Cruise Nite in Southampton is celebrating its 25th year of bringing sexy cars and rockin’ tunes to High Street in Southampton every Thursday night for the tourist season.

Thursday, June 6 kicked off the 25th year and Gary Brown, aka Mr Cruiser, stood directing the lines of pristinely restored vehicles. Brown said he can fit 100 to 130 vehicles strategically along High Street. Car owners drove in from Hanover, Kincardine, Tara, Tiverton and Owen Sound to display their wheels to delighted onlookers.

Brown has maintained a $2 entry fee for car owners, while spectators can admire for free. Drivers enjoyed talking up their classics and mingling with like-motored individuals.

In 24 seasons, Brown has managed to collect over $262,000 for the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation from entry fees, donations and a weekly 50/50 draw. “One hundred percent goes to the hospital fund,” he said.

On July 25, Cruisers' Cruise Nite will be revving up to celebrate their 25th anniversary.

The Corvette Club made its presence known at the first Cruisers' Cruise Nite of 2019 in Southampton June 6.

Joe Brunato from Port Elgin spoke passionately about his 1969 Mustang, a car that he has restored back to its original glory. Much of the restoration was done by Brunato with the help of some of his friends.
