A new initiative in Grey-Bruce brings community members together to explore and expand their crafting abilities while supporting local causes. Started by friends Niv Saberi and Raajan Sidhu, the Art and Soul Collective believes “every individual has the creative capacity to enhance personal growth and strengthen communities through meaningful art and craftmanship.”
The Art and Soul Collective will run a series of “Creative Connection” events to stimulate creative thought and expression through a variety of artistic activities.
“We are committed to making socially conscious contributions," said Saberi in an email April 17. "Any profits generated from our creative connections will be donated to support a local cause," she said.
The first ever Creative Connection, Spring Wreath Make and Take, will be held at the Port Elgin Library on April 28 from 2 to 4 p.m. Guests will make their own whimsical floral wreath creation while enjoying warm tea and good company. The event is open to all and no skill level is required.
For information, visit the Art and Soul Collective's Facebook page at facebook.com/artnsoul.collective. Tickets are available at www.eventbrite.ca/e/spring-wreath-make-take-creative-connection-tickets-60354662420. Funds raised will be donated to the Huron Shores Hospice.
Plans for a second Creative Connection, A Tea Cup Terrarium, are well underway. Keep an eye on their Facebook page for more details.
