Have you ever seen the inside of an old radio and wondered how it works? Have you been puzzled over what you need to make your own craft beer at home? What about converting your old VHS to digital? Or did you ever want to know what a Raspberry Pi is and how it works?
All these hobbies and interests are part of the “Maker Movement”; a trend in which individuals or groups tap into their imaginations to re-purpose, up-cycle or find inspiration to DIY. Evidenced by the popularity of online social platforms such as Pinterest, the popularity of “making” continues to grow.
Bruce County Public Library celebrates and encourages people of all ages to become “makers.” with the first “Make This” event being held at the Port Elgin Branch Library on June 3 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is free to attend and will showcase several local people, groups and their hobbies.
