The Art Legacy Show held their opening and awards presentation on Sunday, May 7, hosted by the Owen Sound Artists’ Co-op. A large, supportive crowd was in attendance for the opening of the show, which celebrates the accomplishments of Bluewater District School Board (BWDSB) high school art students and Saugeen District Secondary School (SDSS) was well represented.
The following Royals had their work recognized:
Second Place in 3D awarded to Sarah Bester for “Ode to Lauren Harris.”
Honourable Mention awarded to Caprice Ricks for “In Woodland Style.”
Honourable Mention awarded to Rachel Shave for “Nina Simone.”
Honourable Mention awarded to Alba Cabrere San Millan for “Southampton Art School.”
The Owen Sound Artists' Co-op has a history of supporting Bluewater high school art students with this annual show and organizing day long workshops for students with professional working artists. This year’s show, which runs for the month of May, has approximately 80 pieces of work including photography, painting and sculpture.
