To help celebrate Bruce County’s 150th, Friends of the Port Elgin Library presents a special art exhibit, Snapshots of Bruce and Grey, an artistic view of rural and historical images of Bruce and Grey counties by Ken Thornburn on Wednesday, April 5 from 6 to 7 p.m.

Originally from Port Elgin, Thornburn graduated from Sheridan College in Graphic Design and Technical Animation, later becoming the animation technician at the Ontario College of Art. In 1991 he moved to Tara where he opened Northern Flyer Designs and Promotions and creates sketches of the area’s history and rural living and has created colouring books for adults and children depicting historical scenes and stories from Bruce and Grey counties.

Thornburn will be donating a historical sketch of the Port Elgin Library and the Friends of the Port Elgin Library will have a selection of items featuring the historical picture available for sale.
