The largest outdoor maple syrup festival in Grey and Bruce counties is just around the corner. It’s the Saugeen Bluffs Maple Syrup Festival March 25 and 26 at Saugeen Bluffs Conservation Area, just 3 kilometres north of Paisley off Bruce Road 3.

As always, there are new attractions and added festivities. This year Saugeen Bluffs will feature two of HGTV’s Carver Kings carving their masterpieces out of wood, Four Paws Flying Entertainment dog shows as well as the Grey Bruce Tree Workers.

Live entertainment, horse-drawn wagon rides, a bigger and better pioneer encampment, kids’ activities, train rides, maple games and of course lots of hot-off-the-grill pancakes and real maple syrup are just some of the weekend’s festivities. Prices for meals range from $4 to $7, depending on your appetite. An ATM machine is available on-site.

Directed by the Saugeen Valley Conservation Foundation, this natural extravaganza attracts a cast of thousands so plan to attend March 25 and 26 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

For those travelling from Southampton or Port Elgin you can ride the S.S. Trolley for just $1. Brought to you by the Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce.

As well, free transportation is available by bus from Paisley both days. Visitors arriving by bus or trolley will be taken to the heart of the event and taken directly back to their pick-up locations afterwards.

The Saugeen Bluffs Maple Syrup Festival has been reviewed by critics for over 45 years and continues to garner applause and accolades from families, far and wide. All proceeds from this event go directly to local conservation efforts, a commitment of both the Saugeen Valley Conservation Foundation and Saugeen Conservation, in helping to provide a healthy environment for ourselves and future generations.

Admission to the festival is $8 per adult, $3 per child and pre-schoolers are free. For more information contact 519-367-3040, visit Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority’s event page or email publicinfo@svca.on.ca.

You can also find the festival on Facebook and remember to use the hashtag #saugeensyrup on Twitter and Instagram.
