riff raff 560No strangers to the horror show screening, Transylvanians Patti Fuller and Dave Hornsby - the latter of whom made an excellent Riff-Raff - were in full character during the social time before the screening.

Fishnets, wigs and faithful handymen took over the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre’s screening of the cult classic Rocky Horror Picture Show, October 29.

Screeners dressed in their Transylvanian best, had a bit of a bite and felt a shiver of anticipation before the screening, which included props as well as viewing instructions.

Donning a blue wig, Museum Executive Director-turned-Transylvanian Cathy McGirr said that many people come to the screening never having seen the movie before and are encouraged to dress the part. Those attending who have never been to a screening were labeled “virgins” and received special, and what some may call “embarrassing”, instructions before the screening.

Although there were fewer people in attendance than there were for the 2015 event, more people did attend in costumes, not associated with the film, which didn’t stop them from doing to the time warp... again.

dr frank 560This isn't the first time Ralph Lynch of Port Elgin has donned fish nets for a screening and it probably won’t be the last. Lynch went as Dr. Frank-N-Furter, the transexual Transylvanian and claimed to have only stuffed his brassiere a “little bit”.
