After hitting a high-note with audiences in May, Lip Sync Battle is back at Lakeshore Recreation, October 22. Lakeshore Recreation and Caitlyn Cobean's Community Crusaders (CCCC) will play host at the evening affair which will raise money for the Crusaders’, in affiliation with the Tara Boom Houston Children's Foundation (TBHCF), whose mission is to improve the lives of families whose children have been diagnosed with life threatening illnesses.
Lip Sync Battle 2.0 will give out prizes for overall winner, best costume, and crowd favourite, as chosen by judges: Trevor Wardrop, Sue Buckton, Janet Dawson and Scott Rowland.
Organizers behind the Battle challenge local business to take part in the October event.
Rona Cobean of CCCC hopes that 18 performers will sign up.
“It was so much fun in May, everyone wanted to do it again. So we were on for it. We’re hoping for more numbers, more performers. I think now that people know what it is and what is expected of them, I’m hoping more people will come out and participate,” said Cobean.
Tickets are available in advance at Lakeshore Recreation for $10. The event is age of majority and lip-syncers must be 19 years or older to register. Anyone interested in participating is asked to contact Karen Fehr at Lakeshore Recreation at 519-832-9027.
Cailtyn Cobean's Community Crusaders was founded by family members and friends of Caitlyn Cobean, a local teen who sadly lost her battle with cancer in August 2008. All money raised goes directly to TBHCF to help families in Southwestern Ontario including Grey and Bruce counties.
