Canadians are counting down to the Tragically Hip’s final concert this Saturday when the Man Machine Poem tour, which kicked off in Victoria, British Columbia on July 22, will come to its conclusion in the band’s hometown of Kingston, Ontario.

In May the Tragically Hip revealed that Gord Downie, the band’s frontman, had been diagnosed with an incurable and aggressive form of brain cancer and announced their tour. It was then decided that CBC would air the Kingston show across all of its platforms, commercial-free, for Hip fans Canada-wide.

The broadcast will take place August 20, beginning at 8:30 p.m. and in Saugeen Shores you can catch it at:

Port Elgin United Church, Duffy’s in Southampton, Allan’s Fireside Grill in Port Elgin, Chester’s Bar & Grill in Port Elgin, Boston Pizza in Port Elgin, and Coulter Parkette.

The Port Elgin BIA will host the Green Street (Coulter Parkette) event with a blow up screen and the mobile Donut Diner as well as Hoof’N It will be on hand serving food. Those who plan to attend are asked to bring their own chairs and non-alcoholic beverages.

So...

Come in, come in, come in, come in
From under these darling skies come in
It’s warm and it’s safe here and almost heartening
Off to a time and place now lost on our imagination
