The 47th Annual Southampton Craft Show is set to showcase thousands of crafts on Thurdsay, July 7 with over 140 indoor and outdoor vendors displaying their wares at the Southampton Coliseum from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
“Not only is this a wonderful event for all ages, local residents and tourists alike, but it has become a major fundraiser for PRANCE (Pegasus Riding Association Nurturing Challenged Equestrians). We encourage people to make a day of it or to drop in after work for your one-stop shopping,” said Brenda Murray, Vendor Coordinator of the Southampton Craft Show Committee.
The Southampton Craft Show has built a reputation for excellence and attracts top notch artisans as testified by numerous vendors and shoppers returning year after year.
For the third year, the festival is pleased to offer free hourly shuttle service from Port Elgin to the Coliseum. Pick up and drop off locations are at the south end of the Giant Tiger plaza, the Missionary Church, Green Street, across from the municipal parking lot, St. Joseph’s Church on Wellington Street and The Plex, at the backside of Shoppers Drug Mart.
The shuttle will begin at 10 a.m. with the last pick up from the show back to Port Elgin at 7 p.m.
Vendors come from all over Ontario and crafts include pottery, jewellery, paintings, gourmet food, hand made clothing for infants to adults, fine woodworking, toys, games, books and much more.
The food court will be open from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. Be sure not to miss out on a piece of homemade pie.
Admission is $4, children under 12 are free. Tickets for a 50/50 draw will be sold throughout the day with the draw being held at 7 p.m. on the ATM side.
PRANCE is a therapeutic equestrian program dedicated to the growth and development of people with physical, emotional or developmental challenges through volunteerism and community partnerships. Their mandate is to work in conjunction with health care providers to assist in the rehabilitation and social development of people with developmental, physical and emotional challenges.
