Victorian Maids served tea to guests as they relaxed with friends and family at the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre's Annual Victorian Christmas Tea on Thursday afternoon.

A couple of holiday themed teas were on offer, Christmas Spice Black tea and a caffeine free Gingersnap Cookie Rooibos. The teas were provided by Loose Leaves Tea with a selection of sweet treats also available, created by Harrigan's 100 Mile Catering.

Museum Programming Coordinator, Nancy White praised the volunteers dressed in the period costumes as they welcomed and served guests. The costumes had been borrowed from the Billy Bishop Museum in Owen Sound and although some of the teapots and teacups are housed in the Museum, some had been borrowed from Loose Leaves Tea.

Guests were also treated to some music from harpist Mabel Williamson, as well as some Irish dance from dancers of the Celtic Acadamy.

“This is just a nice way to take a break from Christmas and the rush and put your feet up and visit with friends and listen to some lovely harp music,” said White.
