A 22-year-old Wasaga Beach woman has died following a collision Wednesday night on Mountain Road in Collingwood.
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment were called to the area shortly before 10pm on November 19 after reports that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle.
In a November 22 media release, police said the woman was in the direct path of an oncoming vehicle when the collision occurred. She suffered critical injuries and was transported to a local hospital by paramedics. She was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police say the investigation remains ongoing but no charges are expected.
