Some in the curling world are calling it one of the biggest events in the history of the sport in Canada and it's coming to the Plex in Port Elgin.
The Battle - The Ultimate Challenge, sponsored by Bruce Power and presented by Holiday Inn Express and Suites, is a three-day event happening in September 25 to 27, 2026 and is actually two events in one. The Battle between Team Rachel Homan and Team Brad Jacobs will see Doubles curling on Friday evening, Skins curling on Saturday evening, and on Sunday afternoon, regular curling with a twist.
The second event is a one-of-a-kind Curling Camp for adults. Limited space is available for campers over the age of 19 with any curling experience level to experience on and off ice instruction from not only one of the top instructors in the country, Maurice Wilson, but also members of Team Homan and Team Jacobs.
In addition to Curling Camp, the package includes tickets to The Battle games, some meals, and accommodation at the Holiday Inn Express and Suites.
Camp registration and Battle event passes will be available online some time on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at www.portelgincurlingclub.com/thebattle.
Full Battle event passes will be $129 plus applicable taxes and fees.
Battle passes purchased can be credited to one of as many as 16 regional curling clubs in Grey Bruce and $25 will go to benefit that club. Area curling clubs can also sell sponsorship for the event resulting in that club receiving a portion of the overall profit. Email dougflowers369@gmail.com for more on that.
If any single game tickets become available for purchase they will be announced at a later date.
