As traffic increases and enforcement ramps up, drivers in Grey and Bruce counties can expect an increased OPP presence on the Civic Holiday weekend beginning on Friday, August 1 through to Monday, August 4, 2025.

The safety initiative is said to centre on the four driving behaviours that are leading contributors to fatalities and serious collisions in the province: speeding, distracted driving, impaired driving, and seatbelt violations.

Officers will also be monitoring compliance with the Move Over law requiring motorists to reduce their speed and move over when approaching emergency vehicles stopped on the roadside.

Safe driving saves lives and drivers are asked to plan ahead, stay focused and respect the rules of the road.
