Beginning July 1, 2025, Bruce County Public Library's (BCPL) TD Summer Reading Club gets underway with a chance to earn badges and win monthly prizes.
BCPL uses Beanstack, a free service app provided by BCPL, as an incentive to keep children reading. The app allows children to read books, log minutes, participate in challenges and win rewards.
Children who read for fun have higher literacy scores and will head back to school in September ready to learn," read a recent media release from BCPL.
A new element of this year's program are Biblioboard challenges. Through the library website, kids, teens and adults will have individual themed activities to complete. Access is included with a library card.
BCPL branches will host weekly themed programs beginning in July and information is available at each branch.
This year's special guests include Scales Nature Park, Wild Ontario Birds of Prey, and Folk duo Panzerotti and Sunshine.
BCPL will also be teaming up with various municipalities in the county to host outdoor movie nights.
