hands outstretched as if in offering

Bruce Grey Child and Family Services (BGCFS) has put out a plea to the public in hopes of finding an individual, couple, or family to provide respite or part-time or full-time care for a 9-year-old girl they are calling "R".

Care can be provided in or out of the home and financial compensation, training, and ongoing support will be offered.

R sleeps approximately 12 hours a night, is not known to have any aggression or aggressive behaviours. She enjoys toddler type toys and her iPad, which she does not require any assistance with. She requires constant supervision when she is awake. R eats some food, is G-tube fed and requires feeding four times a day between 8am and 8pm. She has some words, can communicate her needs in other ways, and wears pull-up style underpants as she is not yet toilet trained. With support R is able to assist in dressing herself and participates in school and day programming.

Anyone who is interested in providing care for R can contact Melissa Matthews at 519-372-2525 extension 4205 or email at melissa.matthews@bgcfs.ca.
