Taralyn Golbeck is the new Director of Communications and Administration with the Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce. A new Executive Director is expected to be hired at the end of August.

With former Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce General Manager Joanne Robbins now fulfilling her new position as Pumpkinfest Coordinator in her new digs the Port Elgin Main Beach, the Chamber Board of Directors have restructured the GM’s role within the Chamber and creating two new positions, a Director of Communications and Administration and an Executive Director.

While the Executive Director position is expected to be filled at the end of August, the Chamber announced that Taralyn Golbeck has been brought on staff to fulfill the communications and administration position.

Golbeck comes from the Walkerton BIA where she held the position of Communications and Event Coordinator and managed the Brockton Visitor Information Centre. She is not new to Saugeen Shores having attended high school in Port Elgin.

Following high school Golbeck attended Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo where she obtained a degree in Communications. She also received a diploma in Advertising from Conestoga College of Applied Arts and Technology in Kitchener.

Golbeck comes with a solid understanding of communications and relationship management and has experience and knowledge in social media, event planning and tourism.
