It’s an all hands on deck situation at 98 The Beach as it hosts its second annual Light The Way Radiothon. The fundraiser for the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation (SMHF) began at 6 a.m. Thursday, December 14 and by 9:30 a.m., had raised over $21,000 for the Light the Way campaign which raises funds for annual needs at the Saugeen Memorial Hospital.

The goal of the campaign is to raise $150,000 during the months of November and December for important equipment at the Southampton hospital and this year $100,000 is needed for a clinical chemical analyser.

Jim Barbour, SMHF Chair said Thursday morning that the day so far had been great. “We’ve had a number of people come in and donate and we’ve had the phones ringing... and I think we’re well on our way to meeting our goal.”

Anyone interested in donating to the Radiothon they can stop into the 98 The Beach studio located at 382 Goderich Street in Port Elgin before 6 p.m. on Thursday or call 519-832-4483. You can also donate online at the SMHF’s donation page.
