Main 560Over 400 students at Northport Elementary School took part in the school’s Terry Fox run September 28.

The Northport Cougars honoured Canadian hero Terry Fox on September 28, with many students donning red and white for their walk around the schoolyard and Biener Ball Diamond.

The student body collectively brought in their toonies to raise money for the Terry Fox Foundation which furthers Terry’s vision of a world without cancer, through research.

Leading up to the event some students took part in a Terry Fox reading challenge that asked students to read one hour for every kilometre of Terry’s journey, while other students learned about Terry’s journey through lessons.

walk 560Whether running or walking, Northport students carried on the memory of Terry Fox as they travelled around their schoolyard and ball diamond.
