SSP 560The Saugeen Shores Police Service would like to thank the public for information which has led to the identification of the owner of the dogs involved in an August 16 biting incident.

The investigation revealed that the dogs had escaped from an enclosure on Rankin Street South and the owner was attempting to locate them when the incident occurred.

The Saugeen Shores Police Service would like to take this opportunity to remind all dog owners that they must have their animals on a leash and under control at all times unless in the designated leash free dog park.

All too often in these types of investigations police are told that the dog is normally friendly and has never bitten before. The consequences are all too often tragic and have long lasting effects on the animals and people involved.

Please ensure when you are walking your dogs to take the time and put them on a leash.
