The second annual De-Stress and Donate event focused on the body, beauty and mindfulness - all for a local cause - with vendors and volunteers filling the Coulter Parkette location July 22. Proceeds from the event went towards the Port Elgin Rotary Club.

Organizer Jennifer Lamont wanted to give back to the Club that “gives back to everyone.”

“I I just couldn't pick what to give to in our community so with the Rotary I know it will where it is needed,” said Lamont. The four hour event saw some rain but that didn't stop families and friends from participating in the activities or relaxing with a registered massage therapist at the De-stress event.

“I hope people see how awesome our community is. There are so many people here that are trying to give back and we have a great community with people willing to put their time in,” said Lamont.

The total raised was not available at the time of publishing but we will update the article appropriately.
