Sixty kids attended Vacation Bible School July 3 to 7

IMG 8083 560A summer kids’ event called Maker Fun Factory Vacation Bible School (VBS) was hosted at St. Joseph's Catholic Church from July 3 to 7.

In a July 8 submission, over 60 kids participated in memorable Bible learning activities, sang catchy songs, played teamwork-building games and devoured yummy treats. They experienced one-of-a-kind Bible adventures, collected Bible memory buddies to remind them of God’s love, and tested out sciency-fun gizmos they were able to take home and play with all summer long.

Kids also learned to look for evidence of God all around them through something called God sightings. Each day concluded with the Funshop Finale that got everyone involved in living what they'd learned.

Kids at Maker Fun Factory Vacation Bible School, joined in a mission effort with the St. Vincent dePaul Society to collect food for those in need within the community of Saugeen Shores. Special thanks to the families involved for their very generous donations. Our parish cupboards are now filled with food and hygiene items for those in need.

A huge thanks goes out to all families who participated to make this camp a wonderful success. Thanks you also to those who donated time, money and resources to make this camp possible. Honourable mention to the adult station leaders who worked tirelessly to prepare activities or snacks for the children each day: Carol Rencheck, Carol Sonnenburg, Deb Jennings, Katie Cremasco, Barb Brearley, Ruth-Anne Stubbington, Jennifer Eagleson, Louise Trottier, Elizabeth Ward, Andrea Culbert, Melissa Kahgee, Austin Belanger, Bob Perrault, Connie Vidotto, Carolyne Desbiens, Mary-Jane Hewitt, Richard Kennedy. “We couldn't have done it without you!”
