The Town of Saugeen Shores has a plan to further communication with residents and offer transparency of Town staff’s day-to-day activities in the public and as such will be providing door hangers to communicate with homeowners in regards to work being done by Public Works, Community Services and the Building Department in their neighbourhood.

In an information report to Saugeen Shores Council during the May 23 Committee of Whole, Director of Public Works and Engineering Amanda Froese said that Town staff often knock on doors to let residents know they're in the neighbourhood but sometimes don't catch home owners at home. Door hangers can be left on the front door with each hanger explaining who was out and what work was being performed. The hanger will also provide the Town’s phone number should residents have any questions or wish to follow up.

The cost for 500 door hangers is just under $68 before tax and will come out of the Promotion-Public Relation Materials operating budget.
