Kincardine Fire & Emergency Services were called to a structure fire on Concession 12 just south of Saugeen Shores on Wednesday afternoon.

Kent Padfield, Fire Chief with the Kincardine department said Thursday that at approximately 5:20 p.m. December 7, firefighters from both Kincardine and Tiverton attended the scene with Paisley and Saugeen Shores departments providing assistance. “All occupants in the house were able to get out safely,” said Padfield.

"The first arriving fire crews found the home fully involved," reported Padfield. 

Phil Eagleson, Saugeen Shores Fire Chief, who was not on the scene, said Thursday that the Saugeen Shores department assisted at 1495 Concession 12 with two tankers “to assist them with water supply.”

The OPP closed the road from Bruce Road 33 to Sideroad J-1 at around 6 p.m., reopening it at around 10 p.m.

The home was totally destroyed with an estimated loss of $300,000.

“At this time we do not have a cause,” Padfield said, adding that the Ontairo Fire Marshall is assisting with the investigation. “The Fire Marshall Investigative Services are on the scene.”
