stewarthome fullOn March 11 at 3:15 a.m. Kincardine Fire and Emergency Services (KFES) were dispatched to a structure fire at 1426 Concession 12 in Kincardine. On arrival firefighters found a two story home on fire. The attached garage was fully involved in fire and smoke conditions were present in the rest of the home.

Crews from Tiverton and Kincardine fire stations worked through the night to extinguish the fire. Mutual aid was requested from the Saugeen Shores Fire Department for water tankers to supply water to the fire scene.

The home was destroyed. There were no injuries.

Kent Padfield, Fire Chief for the KFES reported, “Smoke alarms alerted the occupants who were able to get out safely. Once again working smoke alarms save lives.”

“The first arriving fire crews found heavy fire conditions. The fire entered the roof space of the house and crews were unable to save the home.”

The loss is estimated at $300,000.00.

The fire department is continuing to investigate the cause of the fire.
