P.R.A.N.C.E. (Pegasus Riding Association Nurturing Challenged Equestrians) received an early Christmas gift on Saturday as they were presented with a cheque for $10,000 from TD Securities.

P.R.A.N.C.E., located off Highway 21 just north of Port Elgin, is a registered, non profit charitable organization which is funded solely by donations and grants. The organization's therapeutic riding program is designed for rehabilitation, development and enrichment of those with physical, emotional and intellectual challenges through experiences with and on a horse.

The money comes from TD Securities Underwriting Hope Fund, which is a TD Securities employee based charity and this is the third year they have donated to P.R.A.N.C.E., said TD Securities Events and Charity Programs Manager, Juliette Robinson. “It's employee volunteers that run the charity and raise the money. It's all employee dollars.” she said.

Robinson explained that employees donate funds through a big charity auction they have every year. “We ask the employees to submit charities that they think are important and that meet our mandate so that they help children in our communities that are in need in various capacities.” She added that P.R.A.N.C.E. qualifies because of the work they do with children.
