Gran Fondo cyclists who raise $1,000 or more will have the opportunity to win two Air Canada tickets to a destination of their choice anywhere in North America, the Caribbean, Mexico or Hawaii.

Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation volunteer and Air Canada Captain Bruce Durrer of Port Elgin said the tickets come from the Air Canada Foundation which is designed to promote employee involvement in local fundraising and volunteer programs and added that the tickets can be used within a year of winning them. The winner will be announced at the picnic following the August 19 Gran Fondo event.

When asked for his top destinations to visit Durrer quickly noted that Hawaii is a popular destination but added that Mexico is gaining in popularity.

Registration for the Gran Fondo is ongoing with some registration rates going up April 5. For more information, to create a fundraising page, or to sign up for the event visit ccnbikes.com/#!/events/gran-fondo-lake-huron.
