The Light The Way Radiothon held December 14 by 98 the Beach and the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation (SMHF) raised $60,600, said SMHF Executive Director Sally Kidson.

From corporate donations to community challenges the 12 hour fundraiser exceeded expectations for the second year in a row.

The Light The Way campaign, which raises funds for annual needs at the Saugeen Memorial Hospital aims to reach $150,000 each year during the months of November and December and this year $100,000 is needed for a clinical chemical analyser.

Kidson was happy to report that through a recent Light The Way mailout, the campaign had received approximately $100,000 from the community.

“We are over $150,000 total and it is still growing,” said Kidson in a December 15 email. “Last year we reached almost $200,000 altogether and it looks like we may do that again this year.”
