Re/Max Land Exchange in Port Elgin hosted the first Business After Hours event of 2016 on Thursday evening. The event was co-hosted by Allan's Fireside Grill who provided a selection of tasty appetizers for guests to enjoy as they socialized and networked.

Master of Ceremonies for the evening was PRANCE Operations Manager and Volunteer Co-ordinator, Ann Veyvara-Divinski. The event is put on by the Business After Hours Committee, a sub-committee of the Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce, explained Veyvara-Divinski. “What we do is offer a place where all of you guys can network, have a beverage and make a donation.”

Veyvara-Divinski welcomed accountant, Nancy Wilkinson as the Chamber of Commerce's newest member. Later she informed guests that over the course of the evening their donations had raised $220 for the Children's Miracle Network, a non-profit organization that Re/Max, Port Elgin supports. Children's Miracle Network raises awareness and funds for 170 children's hospitals across North America.

A number of door prizes were awarded during the evening, including Chamber dollars, gift certificates and advertising opportunities.

Next month's Business After Hours will be held at Lakeshore Recreation in Port Elgin and then Miller Insurance, Southampton will act as host in March.Allans Food revAshley WarnerRob Moss
