elvisGerry Barrett, an Elvis impersonator originally from Saugeen First Nation will be performing at the James Mason Centre on Saturday, December 2 at 8 p.m. along with The Vegas Thunder Band and local musicians Gabe Ritchie from Saugeen and Fred Parsons from Owen Sound.

This Elvis is a very popular stand up comedian seen often on Just for Laughs, the Comedy Network, APTN, and heard on CBC Radio.

He sings his own material and shares his story as a person who desperately wants to reverse the negative stereotypes of Indigenous people.

The hour and a half long show will include Barrett’s comedy routine which covers issues such as the ‘60s scoop, adoption and the importance of education for youth and encouraging them to follow their dreams.

Tickets are $20 and available at Books and Strings, The Pea Pod, Rabbit Dash, and Greyfair in Port Elgin, Cindys Variety in Hepworth, Greyfair in Wiarton, or at the door.

Funds raised will go in support of the 2017 Saugeen Toy Drive and other community projects.
