The Chantry Island Cham-bettes want you to save the date for their annual Christmas Tour of Homes, taking place on Friday and Saturday, November 17 and 18. Six homes will be on display showcasing the talents of local designers and business owners to help attendees find inspiration ahead of the Christmas season, with proceeds going towards the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation (SMHF) and Caitlyn Cobean’s Community Crusaders.

Two homes in Port Elgin will be on display with four homes opening their doors in Southampton including Victorian styled home, Watch Hill Bed & Breakfast, located on South Rankin Road. The bed and breakfast, which was featured in the summer issue of Our Homes magazine, will see touches by CR Designs’s Carla Pavlov, Serendipity Florals’ Sarah Taylor and Light House Gallery’s Carol Norris.

The home features a grand staircase, an ensuite for every bedroom, a butler’s pantry outside the formal dining room, a wrap-around veranda and a secret room that won’t be secret for long. While the tour is taking place, granddaughter of homeowner Sue Carruthers, Hannah Carruthers, plans to sit at the baby grand piano playing Christmas music.

The 2016 Tour of Homes saw 1,044 people tour six homes and raised $16,634 after expenses for the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation.

This year’s tour gets underway at 6 pm until 9 pm on Friday, November 17 and continues 11am to 4pm Saturday, November 18.

Tickets, which will also double as a guide booklet, will soon be available for purchase at Bayberry’s in Southampton and Cathy’s Flowers ’N Treasures and Port’s Emporium in Port Elgin and are $20 each.
