It was another fun-filled day July 8 as the Saugeen Shores Celebrates Canada 150 festivities continued at Port Elgin's Main Beach with a Beach Bash and BBQ event.

The Celebration Tent was back up with Saugeen Shores Councillor Neil Menage welcoming everyone and informing them of the day’s activities. “We're hoping to put on a party to remember today,” said Menage, giving praise to the many volunteers before passing over the microphone over to the Chantry Singers, freshly back from performing at Unisong in Ottawa, to sing ‘O Canada.’

The Port Elgin Rotary Club's Ribfest, taking place just outside the tent, was a popular spot as visitors stopped for a plateful of succulent ribs, beans and salad before sitting down to watch an afternoon and evening of entertainment.

With a presentation of Jack and the Beanstalk by The Sandcastle Theatre, Irish dance routines from the Celtic Academy Canada and various musicians taking to the stage, there was something for everyone right through to midnight.
