Southampton’s Chantry Centre 50+ opened its doors to the public to showcase a taste of what is offered recreationally and socially during a June 17 Open House.

Representatives from a variety of clubs, from woodworking to rug hooking were in attendance to answer questions while members volunteered their time serving homemade goodies and healthy lunch options.

A silent auction featuring many items created by Chantry Centre members were also on display. The funds raised through the day’s events will go in support of more equipment for the Centre that will now be settling down for the summer season, however, programs continuing throughout the summer include: billiards, rug hooking, Mahjongg, wood carving, bid euchre, coffee and crafts, open bridge and Scrabble.

Lunch 560Lunch ladies Gwen Evens and Joyce Shular volunteered their time to serve up some tasty dishes and home baked goods at the June 17 Chantry Centre Open House.
