Cruiser’s Cruise Nites get underway this Thursday, June 1 under the big flag in Southampton. This annual tradition of classic music, classic cars, sunsets and 50/50 tickets, now in its 23rd year, has raised a total of $241,499 for the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation (SMHF).

From a May 30 media release, the event is sponsored by Mowbray’s Canadian Tire with assistance from the Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Saugeen Shores; and there is a team of dedicated core volunteers who help set up, organize, welcome visitors and sell the 50/50 tickets. A winner’s name is drawn each Thursday night with weekly prizes having gone as high as $1,000 on a busy night.

Admission to Cruiser’s Cruise Nites is free for spectators and $2 for car owners.
