Models rocked out for a cause at the Lingerie Rocks fundraising fashion show, at Maple Hall, June 4, in support of the Women’s House Service Bruce and Grey.

After the success of last year’s “Cirque de Sexy” themed event where Moko Heathers, owner of Port Elgin’s Belle of the Boudoir, raised approximately $5,000 for Women’s House while the other half went to the Canadian Mental Health Association of Grey-Bruce, it was decided to host a similar event.

Master of Ceremonies Jennifer O’Reilly was happy that the money raised from the event will go towards the Women's House as it’s close to her heart. And the fact that Moko Heathers has put it together makes her feel “warm and fuzzy being apart of it.”

“The women's shelter can literally be a matter of life or death,” said a serious O’Reilly before she brought the laughs on stage. “These dollars are going towards the staffing and the hydro and if it were to ever close think about the potential victims, they might not have anywhere to go, and they may stay where they are and they may die, and that sounds very dramatic, but it’s true.” She continued, “I think it’s cool that they're making it very sexy, and it’s cool that they're promoting local businesses.”

Of the 11 local volunteer models, seven women and four men, all showed poise and just the right amount of attitude as they took to the catwalk. The venue and hors d'oeuvres was donated by The Wismer House. And the evening also saw a silent auction with items provided by many local businesses. Money raised from the auction, raffle and ticket sales are not yet known.
