Art on the FenceArt on the Fence event, 2015

Mark your calendars for the inaugural Southampton Arts Walk, the first annual outdoor, walk-able arts event taking place in downtown Southampton on July 30.

On Saturday, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., The Arts Walk will merge two well established outdoor art exhibitions; the Shoreline Artists’ Art on the Fence and the Southampton Arts Centre’s Up Your Alley, complimented by the addition of a live, outdoor performance by the Bruce County Playhouse.

This year marks the 10th Anniversary for Art on the Fence, an exhibition featuring the fine art by the Shoreline Artists membership such as watercolour to acrylic and oil paintings to jewellery, woodwork, photography and sculpture.

This is the 9th Anniversary for the Southampton Art Gallery’s offering of Up Your Alley, which takes place in the the 'Gateway to the Arts’, the alleyway that joins the Art Gallery and Art School at the Southampton Arts Centre, where treasures such as jewellery, pottery, weaving, painting and glass blown items will be on display.

Southampton is home to a thriving arts and culture community, making our little town unique from many other shoreline communities. With so many culturally focused groups in Southampton, the creation of the Arts Walk is an exciting new approach to unite some of these organizations in presenting a unified, large scale arts event to local residents and tourists alike, with great potential for growth and inclusion of other arts and cultural organizations in years to come.

Vendor spaces for Up Your Alley are still available. Vendor applications can be found at the Southampton Art Gallery or by clicking here. Deadline for applications is July 24, 2016.
