On May 17, eight sharply dressed gentlemen from Saugeen District Secondary School (SDSS) paid a visit to the Southampton Care Centre to attend the nursing home's first ever ‘Senior Prom'. To help make the occasion a special one, residents wore their dresses and suits and the ladies had their hair and makeup done.

As part of the itinerary, the students were asked to escort the ladies into the prom. Each young man gave their 'date' a flower and then had their picture taken under the balloon arch as they escorted them into the prom.

The students took it upon themselves to dance with their dates, an opportunity which was also extended to those using wheelchairs. As an added bonus, two of the students filled the room with cheer by singing to the residents.

It was an amazing day, which made SDSS staff proud.
