A spooky, wacky and fun night was had by all during Night at the Museum October 24, at the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre.

The event saw 30 children dressed in their Halloween best, ready for a night of adventure, mystery and a sleepover in the then vacant museum.

“We signed up because it sounded fun,” Alex MacDonald from Ripley said.

“Our parents were going to a Halloween party of their own, so we might as well come,” explained the 12-year-old army man.

There were many fun activates planned, including a scavenger hunt of the museum in the dark, a reading of Ghoul’s Ghost from local author Doug Archer, wacky experiments and a screening of the animated film, Hotel Transylvania.

“We had a lot of kids interested this year, and we even had a wait-list,” explained organizer Christine Schmidt, who planned for lights out before midnight, but confessed kids have been known to stay up later than planned.

Dressed as a Gangster, Carter Gatten from Cambridge was busy networking and told cousin, Leanna Smith that he had already made lots of friends on the boys’ side of the sleepover; while Mela Middleton of Southampton said she “expected scary things,” but was ready for her night of fun.eric and alex macdonaldBailey Thompsonexperiement
