Bruce County is in for a side-splitting treat next Thursday, Friday and Saturday when the Saugeen Shores Comedy Festival comes to Saugeen Shores with three unique, stand-up comedy shows in as many nights.

The event kicks off on Thursday, August 27 at Chester’s Bar & Grill Co. where James Hammond will bring his weekly variety show to Port Elgin. Some of the GTA’s funniest comedians will share the stage with some of Bruce County’s hottest hip-hop artists. The event promises to be a hilarious and “bumping” launch to the festivities. Mature content, 9pm start, $10 admission.

Then on Friday, August 28, “That Canadian Guy” Glen Foster will headline Maple Hall in Port Elgin. One of Canada’s most recognizable stand-up comedians, Glen Foster has kept audiences laughing for over 30 years. His material is mostly clean and always clever, reflecting his own experiences as well as current events and popular culture. 9pm start, $20 admission. Profits from online sales for Glen Foster’s Friday show are going to the hospital foundation.

On Saturday, August 29, the outrageously funny, Mary-Janes of Comedy, Toronto’s longest running, all female stand-up show, including Port Elgin's very own Jennifer O'Reilly, closes out the festival at Walker House in Southampton at 9:30pm, $20 admission.

Event organizers promise prizes in the form of ticket giveaways for upcoming shows, gifts from local businesses as well as surprise appearances by comedians and local musicians not on the bill. All access passes are $40. Tickets are available at Steel N Ink Tattoo Studio in Port Elgin and online through Brown Paper Tickets.glenfosterposter
