Southampton Splash Pad1 560The Southampton Rotary’s accessible Splash Pad opened earlier this month with an official grand opening happening this Friday, July 28.

The Power Workers’ Union donated $5,000 to the Rotary accessible Splash Pad in Southampton. The funds came from PWU’s Bruce Equity Fund.

A second contribution came from Matt and Melissa Mulholland, new owners of KNK Lawn Care who, along with their children Beccam and Carrstyn dropped by to the Rotary Golf Rain Check Day with a generous donation of $2,500.

The Rotary Splash Pad official opening is taking place this Friday, July 28 at 11 a.m. with a barbecue, cake and refreshments. Everyone is welcome.

Rotarian Tony Sheard reported a new sponsorship opportunity. “We have received great feedback on the ‘Pave the Wave’ walkway and have had many requests for additional engraved pavers,” he said. “As a result we are opening up the opportunity to purchase further pavers.”

The second wave of pavers will be installed in the spring of 2018 with the proceeds being used to fund the accessible splash pad project and to provide further enhancements to Jubilee Park. For more information visit southamptonrotary.com/splashpad.
